A lot has taken place in the five months since I last wrote a story.

January 2010

Was a fairly quiet month for us. Isaac took some Tae Kwon Do classes. The classes were a Christmas gift and he enjoyed the experience. However, I don't think it's something he wants to actively pursue. Gretchen started PreSchool and that is something she loves!

February 2010

While out on business, I had to outrun a snowstorm that came roaring through the Southeast United States. Getting caught in Mississippi under 8 inches of snow would have cost me a weekend. So, I grabbed my mother-in-law and high tailed it home. For a day and a half, Atlanta was a winter wonderland. We celebrated Valentines Day with Grammy and Isaac had some scout fun.

March 2010

March started out great but the ending had little to be desired. Trey and Isaac had their Pinewood Derby Races with both finishing in first place in their division. Trey did all the work on his car and was extremely proud. Isaac did the majority of the work on his car (I did the spray painting). Yes, they both even cut-out their own cars on a pack trip to Home Depot.

Trey celebrated birthday number ten! We had his party at a local indoor skate park. Trey got to show off some of his skate board lessons and shred around the park with a few of his buds. Isaac made sure to get in on the act, but he prefers motoring around on his inline skates

Then there's me...work had me traveling a ton for March and April. On my way to the Airport for Pensacola, I was involved in a 2-car accident. I didn't cause the accident and there was nothing I could have done to avoid it. My car got totaled, I broke a bone in my wrist, and I may have a partially torn ligament, and I still have to do all my traveling for work. I do know this, thank God and the Ford Motor Company. I was on a major interstate doing 55mph and I walked away.

April 2010

Easter was an absolute gorgeous day. We got together with some neighbors and had a huge Easter Egg Hunt. The kids had a blast along with the adults.

Gretchen celebrated birthday number four. Ladybug was able to celebrate at school with her friends and then later at home with more friends. Talk about a spoiled little girl. Her brothers jaws dropped when they saw she got a new thin panel TV for her room. (it's just a 15" TV/DVD combo)

May 2010

Yeah...I'm still dealing with a full arm cast!

The kids are almost done with school. Bugsy wraps-up on the 20th and the boys are on the 26th. the kids are now starting to have more fun at school then actually working. Well, Trey's the exception. He has a couple of big projects but hopefully after the 14th, those will all be done.

The Future

My birthday, Isaac's birthday, Our Anniversary and Margaret's Visit are all on the horizon so I'll have more to talk about later.

A 2010 Welcome

Well, it's another year in the books.

Again, I find myself slacking-off updating this site. I fully blame Facebook for diverting my attention. If Facebook existed when I started this homepage, as it does now, I highly doubt I would have ever started this site. Now I have to wage the mental battle (which doesn't bode well for me) to keep this site running or to pull the plug. However, that's a dilema for me to solve. If you find yourself visiting this site via Facebook...go ahead and register with my site just to make me feel better :)

This year the family made the trek up to Ohio for Christmas and New Years. In typical Northeast Ohio fashion we were greeted with snow and cold, wind and rain for Christmas, and more snow and cold for New Years. Somehow we managed not to get sick but couldn't stay away from the emergency room. Bugsy decided to have a meet and greet with an end table resulting in 6-stitches. Though she was not to keen on that process, the stitches came out and she is no worse for the experience.

We had the opportunity to visit with many family and friends but Christmas Day was spent in our PJ's for the most part. Well, at least until Aunt Meghan, Uncle Lance, and Margaret came over. We were happy to not go out into the wind and rain and had a great day hanging-out and eating...all day!

In fact, I'm pretty certain the only thing we did on our visit was eat. In between the holidays we had a nice snow fall. The kids had the opportunity to get out and play in the snow, and we were able to hit the trifecta of sledding, snowball fights, and shoveling.

New Years Eve was spent "quietly" at "home" playing some Family Fued on the Wii. We almost missed bringing in the New Year with champagne and kisses, but were able to pull ourselves away long enough to keep the tradition alive. New Years Day was again spent eating and drinking (way too much). Lance and I pulled ourselves away from the festivities and engrossed ourselves in the Ohio State Rose Bowl victory over Oregon.

Our vacation came to a quick end and it was time to make our escape before the "real" snow hit. After a quick lunch and some "see you soon's" it was time to get our 12+ hour drive home underway. Luckily the drive was uneventful and we made it home around 3am.

House Before Painting
House After Painting

We've only been in the house for 2-years and the house was only built in 2001, but it was time for a new paint job! Luckily there are a few test products available that I really wanted to use and get a better understanding of their performance. So, I found a couple test houses, called a few friends, and had a paint-out session that lasted 3-days.

We were able to get about 90% of my exterior done. I'll finish that up once I get the other 2-houses completely done. However, Rain has been my enemy over the last 2.5 weeks, and the painting has been slow.

The repaint on our house was much needed and now it looks great. We went with a green body paint, cream trim, and black accent. While it's been raining, I've tried to entertain myself with all the "little" jobs. I was able to paint the front door and repaint some shutters.

About 2 months ago, a friend of Mary's found a brass chandelier and picked it up with us in mind. Mary had it in her mind, that I would refurbish the chandelier and give it a oiled bronze "look". Well, I thought she was crazy but as usual, her will won and I refurbished the chandelier. Also, as usual, she was right. For under $12, we have a larger, nicer, chandelier and now it's a chandelier that can actually light-up the foyer!

I also took the time during this rain delay to paint the Boys Room (the last room in the house to be painted).  We went with a Brown and Blue paint scheme and it has really added some character to their room.

I'm not certain what's next, in fact, I don't think I want to know...but I hope I get a little break (not that I want anything to break).
