Well, it's another year in the books.
Again, I find myself slacking-off updating this site. I fully blame Facebook for diverting my attention. If Facebook existed when I started this homepage, as it does now, I highly doubt I would have ever started this site. Now I have to wage the mental battle (which doesn't bode well for me) to keep this site running or to pull the plug. However, that's a dilema for me to solve. If you find yourself visiting this site via Facebook...go ahead and register with my site just to make me feel better :)
This year the family made the trek up to Ohio for Christmas and New Years. In typical Northeast Ohio fashion we were greeted with snow and cold, wind and rain for Christmas, and more snow and cold for New Years. Somehow we managed not to get sick but couldn't stay away from the emergency room. Bugsy decided to have a meet and greet with an end table resulting in 6-stitches. Though she was not to keen on that process, the stitches came out and she is no worse for the experience.
We had the opportunity to visit with many family and friends but Christmas Day was spent in our PJ's for the most part. Well, at least until Aunt Meghan, Uncle Lance, and Margaret came over. We were happy to not go out into the wind and rain and had a great day hanging-out and eating...all day!
In fact, I'm pretty certain the only thing we did on our visit was eat. In between the holidays we had a nice snow fall. The kids had the opportunity to get out and play in the snow, and we were able to hit the trifecta of sledding, snowball fights, and shoveling.
New Years Eve was spent "quietly" at "home" playing some Family Fued on the Wii. We almost missed bringing in the New Year with champagne and kisses, but were able to pull ourselves away long enough to keep the tradition alive. New Years Day was again spent eating and drinking (way too much). Lance and I pulled ourselves away from the festivities and engrossed ourselves in the Ohio State Rose Bowl victory over Oregon.
Our vacation came to a quick end and it was time to make our escape before the "real" snow hit. After a quick lunch and some "see you soon's" it was time to get our 12+ hour drive home underway. Luckily the drive was uneventful and we made it home around 3am.
