Game 2: Dacula Falcons 24, Duluth Wildcats 0

The 9-0 Dacula Falcons had to battle with the 7-2 Duluth Wildcats in this Quarterfinal Match-up. Though the Falcons were considered the "Home Team", the game was played at Duluth High School.

Duluth opened the game with the ball and on their third play, the Cats were able to rip off a 20 yard run. The Falcons defense was able to tighten-up and got the ball on a failed 4th Down attempt. The Falcons moved th ball, but a False Start and some fumbles stalled the drive with the Falcons turning the ball over on downs also. After one quarter, the game was tied 0-0.

Duluth continued to play inspired ball in the 2nd quarter. On defense, Duluth dominated the line and played in the Falcons backfield making it difficult for the Dacula Offense. On offense, Duluth would occasionally rip-off a big gain to get a first down and keep the Dacula Defense on the field. With 5:00 minutes left in the first half, it looked as the Duluth Defense was set for success as Dacula had the ball with a 4th and 14. The Falcons ran a Halfback Option, which Duluth bit on, for a 20 yard pass play and a first down. After a couple of plays, the Falcons were in the end zone and took a 6-0 lead into the half.

Dacula got the ball to start the 2nd half and the offensive line started to play as if it just had been chewed-out. On a methodical drive, the Falcons ran themselves in for their second touchdown and a 12-0 lead. Near the end of the 3rd quarter, Duluth had the ball. On a crucial 3rd and long, Trey was able to bust through the line and assist on a tackle for loss to force Duluth into a punt.

The start of the 4th Quarter saw Dacula up 12-0 and with possession of the football. With the 2nd string offense at the controls, the Falcons started making their way down the field. Then on a 2nd and 9, a Falcon RB was able to slash his way through the line for a 20 yard TD run and an 18-0 lead. The Falcons Defense continued to dominate and the offense tacked on another TD.

Duluth played a tough game the Falcons reward is to either play a 9-1 Grayson team or a 9-1 Dacula team in the semi-finals.
