Happy Thanksgiving!

Isaac dressed-up Gretchen dressed-up

It's hard to believe, but Thanksgiving 2008 is upon us. I thought this would be a good time to get caught-up before the holiday season gets in full swing.

October had a big bang. Ok, maybe a big snap. Gretchen decided it would be a good idea to play with her brother on the roof of my car. From the time I said, "Get Down" to putting some paint away in my garage, Bugs thought it would be a good idea to jump. When I moved towards the car she was sitting on the curb crying. I brought her in and her ankle looked bruised. We were hopeful it would be something minor, but when we took her to the bathroom, the big lump on her lower leg dashed those hopes. A trip to the emergency room confirmed that she had two broken bones in her leg. Luckily surgery wasn't needed and she was placed in a cast that would stay on for 4-weeks.

Grammy helping Bugsy at LunchShortly after Bugsy broke her leg, Grammy and Grandpa Gierlach stopped by for a visit. Grammy and Grampa were able to catch Football Practice and a Game, spend time at Lunch with both Isaac and Trey, and go to IKEA for the first time.

Halloween 2008 was a fun time. We had a party in the cul-de-sac with Chili, Hot Dogs, Chips and other goodies to eat before trick-or-treating. Trey was dressed as Mommy and Bugsy Going outScream all bloodied-up. Isaac was a muscular Spiderman and Gretchen was our little Ladybug. All the kids came back with bags full of candy that will last until Thanksgiving.

Football ruled the month of November. Trey had 3-weeks of playoff games and practices which culminated with a Gwinnett County Championship. Trey's team worked hard all year long and it was great to see the kids get their trophies.

I was also able to get Bugsy's Bedroom painted and her furniture Gretchen's Bedroomrefinished. Now we just need to get a new mattress and we'll be able to complete her bedroom makeover.

Thanksgiving is going to be spent in Mississippi. We look forward to spending time with Grammy and Grumpa Gordon. There's a good chance we're going to attend the Meridian Wildcats Football game...which is apropos to end the month with football...since it is how it started. To our family and friends in Northeast Ohio, have a great Thanksgiving and know thet we're thinking of you!
