March 2008 (so far)
Isaac has started playing Tee-Ball. So far practices have been fun to watch and Isaac appears to be having a fun time playing. His first game was supposed to be on March 15th, but it has finally decided to rain here in Atlanta. So, while in the middle of a drought, his game has been canceled...and now I'm going to miss his first game.
Our fridge sounds like it's going to finally kick the bucket. Mary and I decided we better get a new fridge, so off to Best Buy we went. Mary made a sacrifice and got a side-by-side instead of the French Door...so, we spent the money we saved on a new dishwasher. Thank goodness it's 24 months, no interest.
I've actually started to take the time to do some painting. I've gotten all three bathrooms painted and our master bedroom done. It's nice to have some "color" on the walls. I foresee the possibility of doing some more painting in the master bedroom. Though the paint looks much nicer than before, I think a color adjustment is going to be made. Next, I think I'll complete the dining and living room. Those will be two quick rooms that can get done and make it feel like I accomplished something.
February 2008
Trey and Isaac were involved in the Boy Scouts Pinewood Derby. Isaac was in the sibling bracket and Trey in his Wolf bracket. Both worked on the cars to the best of their abilities. Yes, I helped but I had the boys do what I thought they could for as long as they could.
Isaac won first place in the sibling division. In fact, he had the second fastest car in the pack's derby race.
Trey also had a fast car. Trey won second place in the Wolf division. Most impressively, Trey's car won "Best of Show" for his pack. i think Trey was supposed to go on to the next level of racing but his car is pretty beat-up, and I doubt it will race well.
January 2008
Well, the most important news is about Meghan, Lance and Margaret (see above).
We were in Cleveland wrapping-up our holiday visit. The ride back home to Atlanta was a white knuckler. Snow storms in the mountains of Tennessee and Kentucky were no fun. In some of the mountain passes, I couldn't even see the road.
For me, I had week long trips to Dallas and Las Vegas and it felt like a lost month.
