We're On the Move!
Written by Ed Jr.
Tuesday, 21 November 2006

During the beginning of September I asked Mary a tough question. There was a job opening within my company, but the job was in Atlanta. I wanted to apply, but would she resent me if I applied for the position?

Her answer, she doesn’t want to move but wouldn’t resent me and wouldn’t tell me not to go for the job. With that, I decided to put in my application.

It’s not really the easiest thing when trying to explain this job. In a nutshell, the job is in Atlanta and I would be responsible for doing field-testing, training and product support for the Southeast United States. I would be a liaison of sort between technical, marketing, sales and our end-users, and would be an important cog in the process of releasing new products for a company on the verge of doing seven billion dollars in sales this year.

Fast forward to November 2006…I ended up getting the job, and now the life changes begin. Mary, the kids and I will soon be moving to the Atlanta, Georgia area.

There was nothing easy about this decision. We are moving away from all that we know and love. As Mary put it, we’re moving to an island, and I think her assessment is correct.

I wanted to take a moment and thank all those who are helping us during this transition. Without your love and support, this time in our lives would be extremely difficult and appear unrelenting. Karen, Dad and Mom, Marty and Lisa, Meghan, Lee and Judy and whomever I missed…Thank You, Thank You, Thank You! Mary and I know how busy your lives are and we are fully aware of the commitment asked. I know Mary has worked and thought very hard to make things as easy as possible and has planned accordingly.

For all of our family and friends, I am not clever enough to use the correct words to describe how you’ll be missed. We love you! We hope some of you are able to visit us and we hope that when we visit, we can find the time to get together with many of you.

I truly hope that this web site can act as the link that it was designed to be. If there are things that you feel would make the site easier to use, call us. I’ll do whatever I can to make the site more appealing for you and easier to use. I know I sound like a broken record, but the site is designed to be interactive. You have the ability to let us know what’s going on with you. With us being on an island, that’s more important than ever. Please share your lives with us!

Well, it only took me 2 months and about 3 drafts to finally complete this story.

God Bless Everyone. We love you all and we promise, we’ll be back HOME soon!
